Charli XCX carries on the party after Wuthering Heights premiere

The Wuthering Heights premiere may have wrapped up, but Charli XCX proved the night was far from over as she made her way to the Chateau Marmont on Wednesday.

At 33, the pop sensation ditched her striking gold ensemble in favor of a daring black dress, opting to arrive with a margarita in hand rather than waiting until she reached the bar.

Charli, who is the mastermind behind the soundtrack for the steamy R-rated film adaptation of Emily Brontë’s iconic novel, has been actively promoting alongside stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.

Embodying her signature Brat persona, she stepped out with a drink on hand and a pair of sunglasses to complement her sleek, all-black outfit.

This ensemble marked a sharp departure from the opulent gold gown she donned earlier at the premiere of Emerald Fennell’s rendition of Wuthering Heights.

For the world premiere event, held at the TCL Chinese Theatre in LA, Charli, who was joined by fellow songwriter and collaborator on the album, Finn Keane, ensured all her best assets were on display in the gown.

The boned middle gave her bust an eye-popping boost while also nipping in her tiny waist – which was only highlighted further by the volumnious puffball skirt.

In her trademark ‘Brat’ style, she shunned typical preened red carpet glam in favour of pared-back barely-there make-up and mussed wavey hair.

Her stunning dress featured sumptuous layers of tulle placed above a structured gold body, with the drama maximised by the vast puffball.

While she was worlds away from her grubby crop tops and micro-minis, which have been at the helm of the ‘Brat’ movement, she still went edgy in black 90s-inspired sunglasses for one of her sizzling social media posts before the event.

Charli has joined the leads, including Margot, 35, who plays the lead role of Catherine Earnshaw, and Jacob, 28, who is taking on the role of love interest Heathcliff, on the promo trail and on Wednesday she complemented the leading lady.

Released in November, the song House, on which the star collaborated with Velvet Underground rocker, was met with huge praise.

Speaking about her music for the film, Charli has previously said: ‘After being so in the depths of my previous album, I was excited to escape into something entirely new, entirely opposite…

‘When I think of Wuthering Heights, I think of many things. I think of passion and pain. I think of England. I think of the Moors, I think of the mud and the cold. I think of determination and grit’.

Margot and Jacob, who have admitted to being ‘obsessed’ with one another, sent frenzy by holding hands at the star-studded event.

While the chemistry between the duo is palpable, both of the A-list stars happen to be in relationships. Margot has been married to film producer Tom Ackerley, 35, since 2016. The couple share a one-year-old boy.

Margot and Tom co-founded the production company LuckyChap Entertainment, which produced Wuthering Heights. Her husband stood proudly beside his superstar wife at Wednesday’s premiere in a classic black tuxedo.

Meanwhile, Jacob has been in an on/off romance with Full House star Lori Loughlin’s look-alike daughter Olivia Jade Giannulli, 26, since 2021. Unlike Tom, Giannulli did not appear to attend the premiere.

At the premiere, she wore one of Elizabeth Taylor‘s most iconic jewellery pieces, in the form of the Taj Mahal diamond necklace, which is worth a reported $8 million.

The necklace was famously gifted to Elizabeth by her fifth husband Richard Burton 54 years ago for her 40th birthday and it is among the most recognizable pieces in the late Hollywood star’s legendary jewellery collection.

Earlier this week, Margot raised eyebrows when she gifted Elordi a stunning matching signet ring. Each of the beautiful rings features an image of two skeletons embracing, and the words ‘Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.’

They are also both engraved with the initials of Cathy and Heathcliff- the doomed lovers played by the A-list duo in the film.

Another feature is the inscription ‘1847-2026’, a reference to the year of the publication of Brontë’s classic novel – and the release of the new film.
