Before & After Pics Of James Corden Since Ditching Late Night Are Jarring

Three years have passed since James Corden bid farewell to “The Late Late Show,” and his current appearance suggests he’s been through some challenges. Although he wasn’t the most beloved late-night host, Corden maintained a healthy demeanor during his eight-year tenure. In recent times, the British entertainer appears to have undergone significant changes since his 2023 departure. Consider these snapshots, taken roughly six years apart.

The 2019 image captures Corden basking in the lively and youthful energy he often projected on-screen, despite any differences between his television persona and real-life demeanor. Fast forward to December 2025, and the former host is noticeably weary, potentially just experiencing a rough day.

Corden’s weight loss is another notable change. Since starting his weight reduction journey in 2021, he seems to have shed even more pounds post-TV career. Despite abandoning Ozempic due to its ineffectiveness, Corden humorously cites his motivation as aspiring to reach the fitness level of his Broadway co-star, Neil Patrick Harris. “My aim is to— I don’t think I’ll ever be as fit as him — but I’m gonna try,” he revealed in a September 2025 interview with People.

Now residing back in the U.K., Corden may be feeling downcast due to his professional life. Despite past successes, his post-“Late Late” career hasn’t been smooth. As reported by the Daily Mail, the offers haven’t been pouring in upon his return. “It’s incredible, isn’t it? You’ve got a guy who was a major British success in Hollywood, yet no channel here seems to want him,” an insider remarked. They noted that Corden’s current projects stem from his own initiatives, highlighting his lack of popularity. “The truth is, not many people like him—he seems funny and caring on screen but behind the scenes, production companies and broadcasters aren’t interested.”

Adding to his challenges, Corden’s latest venture with Neil Patrick Harris, “Art,” required frequent trips to the U.S. for rehearsals, which took a toll on him. “It’s hard, but we were lucky to be here for rehearsals, and they’ll return for a few weeks in October,” Corden told People in September 2025. He also expressed enthusiasm about a planned trip back to the U.K., saying, “I get to go home this weekend for something I was already booked for, so… we’re making it work.” With the project concluded, hopefully, Corden is feeling more upbeat.

Could Corden’s career trajectory be affecting him?

James Corden, who’s moved back to the U.K., could be looking downtrodden because of his career. Although he’s has enjoyed a great deal of success, life hasn’t been exactly easy for him since leaving “Late Late.” According to the Daily Mail, Corden wasn’t exactly met with a bunch of job offers on the other side of the pond. ‘It’s amazing isn’t it, you’ve got a guy who has jetted back to Britain after being one of the most successful British exports to Hollywood, yet no channel over here appears to want him on their books,” shared one insider. They also stated that the projects that Corden, who also acts and sings, has been apart of were his own, due to his unpopularity. “The truth is that not many people like him – it’s strange as he comes across as such a funny, caring man but behind the cameras, within television production companies and broadcasters, they don’t want to know.”

If career uncertainty isn’t enough, “Art,” Corden’s most recent project with Neil Patrick Harris, required him to make regular treks back to the states for rehearsals. It was apparently wearing on him. “It’s hard, but very lucky we were here for the whole time of rehearsals and they’ll be back out for a couple of weeks in October,” Corden shared with People in September 2025. The former host also expressed his excitement for a then-upcoming trip across the pond. “I get to go home, actually, this weekend because I had something I was already booked to do before this arrived, so … it’s okay, we’re getting through it,” he explained. Hopefully, he has perked up now that the show is over.
