The popular Paramount series, Yellowstone, may have concluded, but its universe continues to expand with a lineup of eagerly anticipated spinoffs, including the forthcoming The Madison.
Since its debut in 2018, Yellowstone captivated audiences with the dramatic tales of the Dutton family, who own the largest ranch in Montana. While many viewers were initially drawn in by Kevin Costner’s compelling portrayal of the family patriarch, John Dutton, the show also gained a loyal following thanks to its talented ensemble cast featuring Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Gil Birmingham, and Cole Hauser. The gripping storylines and unexpected plot twists kept fans hooked.
Creator Taylor Sheridan has successfully expanded his television empire with several original series, such as Landman, Mayor of Kingstown, Lioness, and Tulsa King. Additionally, he has enriched the Yellowstone narrative with prequel series like 1883 and 1923.
Before Yellowstone wrapped up, ViacomCBS President Chris McCarthy revealed to The Hollywood Reporter in 2023 that a new spinoff featuring Matthew McConaughey was in development. However, a year later, this McConaughey-led project was shelved in favor of a different spinoff, now titled The Madison.
Since its launch, Yellowstone has sparked the creation of six spinoffs, with more potentially on the horizon, adding to the offerings on the Paramount Network. Nevertheless, these expansions have also encountered some delays. The series delves into the powerful dynamics of a family that controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States, navigating the complexities of their success.
Michelle Pfeiffer stars in the upcoming series alongside Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox and Kevin Zegers. The Madison is the first spinoff in the Yellowstone franchise set in the present day.

When Will ‘The Madison’ Premiere on Paramount?
The Madison will premiere on March 14. Filming took place in Montana in late 2024 with additional scenes filmed in New York City and Texas. The show has already filmed two seasons.
What Is the Spinoff About?
According to the official description, The Madison “follows the McIntosh family, originally from New York City, who live in the Madison River valley of central Montana.”

Who Makes Up the Cast?
Pfeiffer stars as Stacy Clyburn, Paige (Elle Chapman) and Abigail’s (Beau Garrett) mother. Abigail, meanwhile, is described as a “resilient and sardonic New Yorker, who is a recently divorced mother of two” while Paige is a “somewhat self-centered woman who indulges in a luxurious New York lifestyle provided by her parents and investment banker husband.”
Speaking of Paige’s husband, Adams plays Russell, a “young investment banker who has followed the life path set before him from the start.” Fox is also part of the show, playing a “self-reliant bachelor who loves the outdoors” while Zegers is “Stacy’s new neighbor [who was] asked to look out for the place until the family showed up.”
The rest of the cast includes Amiah Miller, Danielle Vasinova, Ben Schnetzer, Rebecca Spence, Alaina Pollack and Kurt Russell.
Are ‘Yellowstone’ Stars on ‘The Madison’?
No cameos have been announced — yet. In addition to The Madison, Yellowstone is expanding with spinoffs including CBS’ Y: Marshals about Grimes’ Kayce, a Rip and Beth focused spinoff titled The Dutton Ranch, 1944 and 6666.
