Bluey has achieved another remarkable victory in the United States, claiming the top spot as the most-streamed show of 2025.
For the second consecutive year, the cherished children’s animated series from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation has dominated the ratings.
Enthusiastic viewers flocked to Disney+ to indulge in an impressive 45.2 billion minutes of this endearing series, which chronicles the adventures of a blue heeler family.
Data from Nielsen reveals that while still leading the pack, Bluey’s viewership saw a decrease from 2024, when it reached a staggering 55.65 billion minutes streamed.
Fans can enjoy all 154 episodes, each running for 10 minutes, on Disney’s streaming platform.
On Friday, the Hollywood Reporter announced that it was Grey’s Anatomy that came in second in the Nielsen survey.
Bluey has once again triumphed in the US ratings, becoming the most-streamed show in America in 2025Â
This is the second year in a row that the ABC’s beloved children’s animated series has topped the charts in the StatesÂ
The medical drama, which debuted on the US ABC network in 2005, clocked up an impressive 40.42 billion minutes of viewing on Hulu and Netflix.
Netflix’s Stranger Things was third with 39.95 billion minutes streamed.
Bluey is broadcast in more than 60 countries, with all three seasons of the Emmy-award-winning cartoon available on ABC iview in Australia, Disney+ in the U.S. and select episodes on BBC iPlayer in the U.K.Â
It comes after a theory about the staggeringly popular show lit up the internet last year.
According to one eagle-eyed viewer, the show set in the early 2000s.
And the same fan also claims that they have figured out the ‘ages’ of the characters based on story details.
Ever since the show first debuted in 2018, fans have wondered the age of Bandit, who is father to Bluey, seven, and Bingo, five.
Both of the children’s characters have only had one birthday on the show in six years, which has fans asking online for the exact year the show is set.
Fans logged onto Disney+ to consume a whopping 45.2 billion minutes of the heartwarming show about a family of blue heelers over the past year. (Pictured)
Sharing their thoughts on the Adult Bluey Facebook page, the viewer posted crucial ‘clues’ to support their theory after watching the season three finale, Surprise.
‘So I’ve had an ongoing theory for a while now and the Surprise episode has made me lean more into it. I believe Bluey takes place during the early 2000s,’ the fan said in the post.
‘Reason 1: Bandit talks about growing up in the 80s as a kid.
‘He could have been born late 70s, early 80s. That would put him in his mid/late 20s during the early 2000s. Which is average age for a dad with kids their age.
‘Reason 2: The technology. In this latest episode people talk about it jumps into the future but I believe it jumps to current time.’
‘All their electronics are current. They have quite a bit of what looks like Amazon products; an echo dot, an echo show, and a ring doorbell. They also have a robot vacuum (that’s not working all that great) and a digital picture frame.’
‘Cool theory,’ said one user on the thread, while another gushed: ‘Love this.’
Meanwhile, BBC Studios and The Walt Disney Company are currently producing Bluey’s first-ever animated feature film.
It will be written and directed by the show’s creator, Joe Brumm.
The CG animated film will be produced by award-winning animation producer Amber Naismith, while Richard Jeffery will return to co-direct the film.
It is set to be released in cinemas in 2027.
