Jaime King Reveals Surprise Marriage to Austin Sosa Amid Custody Battle Controversy

In a surprising turn of events, Jaime King has been revealed to have secretly wed Austin Sosa just a month after losing custody of her children. This clandestine marriage has now come to light in the midst of allegations of deceit surrounding the union.

Documents exclusively obtained by Page Six disclose that the couple, whose relationship had largely flown under the radar, quietly exchanged vows on April 23, 2025. However, the union was short-lived, as Sosa, aged 34, filed for divorce on January 22, citing the date of separation as November 11, 2025, due to “irreconcilable differences.”

King, who is 46, expressed her shock at the unexpected divorce filing. Speaking to Page Six on January 23, she shared her disbelief, stating she was with Sosa “the night before” he approached the court. This sudden move left her feeling blindsided by the dissolution of their marriage.

The actress admitted that while their relationship had its share of “normal challenges,” she had held onto the hope that they were actively working through their issues. Her comments paint a picture of a relationship that, despite its brevity, was significant to her and fraught with complexities.

While King acknowledged that they experienced “normal challenges” in their short-lived marriage, she “genuinely believed [they] were working on [their] relationship.”

The “Sin City” star never publicly said that she and the investment banker were married and kept details about their relationship private.

In fact, in July 2025, she was photographed wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring, after which her reps told us, “Jaime is embracing a joyful new chapter with her engagement to Austin Sosa and is grateful for the kind messages of support.

“She’s especially happy to share this moment with her children, who have a loving bond with Austin and his family. As always, her sons remain her top priority, and she kindly asks for privacy as they move forward together with love and gratitude.”

Meanwhile, a source elaborated to People, “She is very close with [Sosa’s] family and was staying with his parents after she moved out of her Los Angeles apartment earlier this year.”

Then during an October 2025 appearance on the “Juicy Scoop” podcast, host Heather McDonald noted that her guest, King, was “recently engaged” before asking how she and Sosa met.

“We met through mutual friends,” the “White Chicks” star replied, agreeing that it’s an “exciting” time in her life.

The model filed for divorce from her first husband, Kyle Newman, in May 2020, leading to contentious proceedings. After she accused the filmmaker of abuse, he denied her allegations and claimed she was a “chronic drug addict and alcoholic.”

They settled their split in September 2023.

However, the following October, Newman, 49, accused King of being “strung out” and “drunk” while their sons — James, 12, and Leo, 10 — were in her care.

Five months later — just one month before she wed Sosa — King lost physical custody of the boys after failing to complete a drug and alcohol rehab program; however, she was given supervised visitation rights.

Days later, the “devastated and embarrassed” mother of two was forced to move out of her LA rental home for owing thousands of dollars in back rent.

When McDonald asked King about her sons during the podcast appearance, she simply said they were “very busy.”

Reps for King and Sosa did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
