- Dr. Faith Adewale has revealed that sexually transmitted infections, particularly neurosyphilis, can lead to mental health problems.
- Speaking on The Clarity Zone podcast, he noted that many mental health patients may be affected by complications from prolonged STIs, which can impact brain function and cognitive processing.
Faith Adewale, a medical doctor who first gained public attention as a reality TV star, has issued a cautionary statement regarding the impact of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) on mental health.
During a recent appearance on The Clarity Zone podcast, co-hosted by Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, also known as Nedu Wazobia, Adewale drew attention to the severe implications of neurosyphilis, identifying it as a critical concern in the context of syphilis progression.
“Are you aware that STIs can lead to mental health issues?” she posed. “Neurosyphilis, which occurs in the third stage of syphilis, is one such condition. There are numerous factors that can contribute to mental health problems.”
Adewale further elaborated, “A significant number of individuals struggling with mental health may unknowingly have STIs. Neurosyphilis can alter brain function and impact cognitive processes.”
In another development, Nigerian music sensation Harrison Tare Okiri, popularly known as Harrysong, has stirred online discussion after posting a video featuring his two young daughters. This comes amidst an ongoing custody battle with their mother, Alexer Perez Gopa.
The clip emerged shortly after Alexer publicly announced her decision to temporarily relinquish custody of their children, aged four and three.
In an emotional Instagram story posted on Thursday, January 29, 2026, Alexer disclosed that the move followed years of alleged pressure and harassment from the singer following their separation.
She explained that she has been solely responsible for raising the children for about two years but has constantly faced interference from Harrysong. According to her, the singer frequently shows up at her residence without prior notice, disrupting her efforts and leaving her emotionally drained.
Alexer further claimed that Harrysong has repeatedly insisted on taking over the children’s care, despite her belief that his busy lifestyle makes him largely unavailable. She also alleged that he has used his status and resources to make things increasingly difficult for her.
She revealed that she had previously reported the situation to welfare authorities but has now chosen to step back temporarily, stressing that she plans to fight for custody again when she is emotionally and mentally ready.
While expressing deep concern for the safety and well-being of her children, Alexer said her decision was not an act of surrender but a necessary step toward peace and healing. She also disclosed plans to move from Asaba to Lagos to rebuild her life.
In the video later shared by Harrysong, the singer was seen escorting his daughters into a car, reportedly to return them to their mother. During the moment, one of the girls could be heard saying she did not want to go to her “mummy’s house,” as Harrysong calmly urged them to get inside the vehicle.
He explained in the clip that he had little choice in the matter and wanted to prevent further online drama with his ex-wife.
