A man in his late 20s is in critical condition after sustaining a gunshot wound to the chest, as confirmed by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — In the early hours of Saturday, an argument in a parking lot escalated into a shooting, leaving a man with severe injuries. This incident took place in Jacksonville’s Brooklyn neighborhood, according to local law enforcement.
The confrontation occurred at a Gate gas station located in the 400 block of Park Street, authorities reported.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office stated that the victim, a male in his late 20s, was shot in the chest.
Preliminary findings from the investigation indicate that the victim was with a group of unidentified people in the parking lot when a dispute with the suspect erupted, resulting in the shooting.
Officers were able to arrive shortly after shots were fired and detain all parties involved, JSO said.
This is an isolated incident with no further threat to the public, JSO confirmed.
