In a swift response to a threatening brush fire, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has mandated evacuations for sections of Interlachen in Putnam County, Florida. The fire, which has sparked off Keuka Road, poses a significant risk due to current weather conditions.
The sheriff’s office has expressed concern that strong winds in the area could cause the fire to spread rapidly and unpredictably, heightening the potential danger to residents. In light of this, authorities are taking proactive measures to ensure public safety.
Evacuation efforts are currently focused on the region stretching from Munich Avenue to Madrid Avenue and Brussels Street. Firefighting crews are on the ground, working tirelessly to bring the blaze under control amidst challenging conditions.
Additionally, the situation has led to the closure of roads from Madrid Avenue and Keuka Road extending past Como Circle. The area is blanketed in heavy smoke, with some sections experiencing zero visibility, creating hazardous conditions for both residents and emergency responders.
