Hollywood icons Kurt Russell and  Goldie Hawn are among the few long-lasting famous relationships to have endured for decades in the spotlight. Despite being in a relationship for over 40 years, the actors have never married and instead built a strong and blended family with their three adult sons and a daughter, and seven grandchildren. Their romance first blossomed on Valentine’s Day in 1983, after reconnecting on the set of the 80s drama, Swing Shift.

Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn stand out as one of Hollywood’s enduring couples, defying the odds with a relationship that has thrived for over 40 years. Despite their long-term commitment, the pair has chosen not to marry, instead nurturing a close-knit, blended family that includes three sons, a daughter, and seven grandchildren. Their love story began in earnest on Valentine’s Day in 1983 when they reconnected on the set of the 1980s film “Swing Shift.”

While their first encounter dates back to 1967, Goldie Hawn confessed that she initially dismissed the idea of dating Russell due to their age difference. “I was 21 and he was 16,” she remembered, “and though I found him adorable, he was just too young.”

Reflecting on their eventual relationship, Hawn shared, “Years later, we met again, and I realized how much I liked him from our first meeting. We had both vowed never to date another actor, which just goes to show, you never know,” she remarked during an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs.

During a 2017 appearance on the talk show Harry, Kurt reflected on their first date that almost ended in disaster after a night out ended with them going to Goldie’s house, which was mid-renovation.

The actor shared: “We eventually found our way upstairs, looking around at imaginary furniture, and we were in the imaginary bedroom, now, and we are realistically having sex.”

Russell explained: “The police walked in because we had to break into the place to get in,” prompting the pair to flee to a hotel, where they ended their night.

“That was our first date,” the actor said. “It was a lot of fun, I’ll tell you what. I can’t believe it was a long time ago.”

In 1986, Goldie and Kurt welcomed their first child together, their son, Wyatt, 39, who has since followed in their Hollywood footsteps.

He joined the couple’s blended family, which included Goldie’s kids with her ex-husband Bill Hudson, Oliver and Kate, as well as Russell’s son Boston, whom he shares with ex-wife Season Hubley.

Despite their enduring partnership, Goldie maintained that she has no plans to marry Russell and stated that she “would have been long divorced if [she’d] been married,” and that they do not feel that marriage “cements” a relationship

Earlier this month there were reports of a rift over political differences, according to a source via the National Enquirer.

The insider claimed: “Goldie has been avoiding situations where politics might come into play.”

They added that in light of the recent political climate, the couple don’t “always see eye to eye” on the topic and alleged that contrasts are “starting to show”.
