A tragic incident unfolded at Tsugaike Mountain Resort, as reported by Tsugaike Gondola Lift Co. on their website, with the confirmation of a customer’s death following an accident on Friday.
The unfortunate event involved a 22-year-old woman who became perilously suspended in midair. As she attempted to disembark from a chair lift, a buckle on her clothing snagged onto the chair, leaving her hanging.
Subsequent reports revealed that the woman experienced a heart attack and was swiftly transported to the hospital, where she unfortunately passed away.
In a heartfelt statement, Tsuneo Kubo, the company’s chief executive and president, extended his deepest condolences to the grieving family and expressed hopes for the peaceful repose of the woman’s soul.
Kubo assured the public that the company is committed to fully cooperating with law enforcement and relevant agencies as they conduct their investigations into the incident.
Kubo said staff would also look into strengthening the resort’s safety management in an effort to prevent a recurrence.
