Beaufort Hit-and-Run Leaves Two Pedestrians Injured; Suspect in Custody

BEAUFORT, S.C. — A man is now facing serious charges after a hit-and-run incident involving two pedestrians in Beaufort, as reported by the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP).

Authorities have arrested 46-year-old Richard Quinn Davidson. He faces multiple charges, including two counts of felony driving under the influence causing great bodily injury, two counts of hit-and-run, and one count related to the responsibilities of a driver involved in an accident resulting in great bodily injury.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Saturday, according to an SCHP spokesperson, on Shell Point Road near Broad River Drive.

Officials revealed that Davidson was driving a Ram pickup truck eastward on Shell Point Road when he struck two pedestrians. Despite fleeing the scene, law enforcement later apprehended him.

SCHP reported that the pedestrians sustained severe injuries and were transported to the hospital. We will continue to provide updates as more details emerge.
