Authorities are actively searching for an individual accused of fatally shooting a friend over a disagreement about sharing French fries.

On January 28, Texas police responded to a shooting incident at an apartment complex, as detailed in a January 29 press release from the Fort Worth Police Department. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with a gunshot wound to the head and immediately began CPR, which was later continued by Fort Worth Fire EMS personnel.

The injured man was transported to a hospital for emergency care, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.

Investigators reported that a heated argument erupted between two friends when one refused to share his French fries. The confrontation intensified, leading the suspect to allegedly shoot his friend before fleeing the scene.

After gathering accounts from witnesses, police have identified the suspect, who is reportedly a resident of the same apartment complex as the victim. However, authorities have yet to release the suspect’s name to the public.

Police searched for the suspect inside their apartment unit but have currently not located them.

A spokesperson from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Oxygen regarding the identity of the victim, along with the cause and manner of death.

The Fort Worth Police Department is asking the public to reach out with any information that will help locate the suspect.

This incident is an isolated event,” police wrote in the press release, “and there is no known danger to the general public.”
