Controversial Minnesota Anti-ICE Group’s WWII Photo Imitation Sparks Backlash: A Cringeworthy Misstep?

There’s been a notable surge in activity from anti-ICE groups in Minnesota recently.

Previously, we highlighted instances where some activists were establishing makeshift “checkpoints” at intersections. Their aim was to intercept and prevent ICE agents from accessing certain neighborhoods. Adding to the controversy, these activists allegedly assaulted Jorge Ventura, a journalist from the Daily Caller, along with his photojournalist. Ventura has shared footage showing one of these individuals pushing him on camera.

Their tactics have become increasingly extreme. These activists seem to believe they have the authority to stop strangers on the street to question their identity or demand they leave the vicinity. Ironically, they are the same individuals who criticize ICE for its practices, all the while conducting their own street checks while obscuring their identities with masks. This behavior demonstrates a striking lack of self-awareness, undermining their own criticisms.

Their actions are truly off the rails at this point. They think they have the right to stop random people in the street, to grill them on who they are, or tell them to get out of the area. Meanwhile, these are the same people throwing a fit about the actions of ICE, even as they are stopping people at checkpoints as they wear masks or cover their faces. An astounding lack of self-awareness about how they are doing in their own arguments.
