A London court has sentenced Kirk Holdrick to three years in prison following a brazen attempted burglary at a luxury home where acclaimed actress Anya Taylor-Joy was residing, authorities announced on Wednesday.

Prosecutors revealed that Holdrick, along with another masked accomplice, attempted to enter Taylor-Joy’s bedroom, indicating a potential personal threat to her and her husband, musician Malcolm McRae, rather than a mere intent to steal valuables.

The incident occurred on February 12, 2023, while the couple was staying at a residence in London. The intruders, both in balaclavas and gloves, scaled the property’s wall to gain entry.

McRae managed to lock their bedroom door as the pair tried to force it open with a crowbar. The duo retreated when McRae shouted that he was armed.

On December 12, the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed Holdrick’s sentencing at London’s Woolwich Crown Court. Details of the proceedings were shared by the Press Association, which accessed the sentencing documents.

Holdrick, who was already serving other sentences for separate armed robberies, initially denied being responsible for the burglary but later changed his plea to guilty.
