Tampa, Florida, has been recognized as one of the top five destinations for weddings in 2026, as revealed in a study by WalletHub. The city secured the fifth spot on the list after a comprehensive assessment of 26 key factors that contribute to wedding-friendliness. These factors include the average costs of weddings, the availability of venues and event spaces, as well as hotel accommodations.

WalletHub’s study highlights the importance of selecting a city that not only provides an affordable wedding experience but also caters to guests with reasonable accommodation options. This is particularly relevant given that the average wedding can cost couples around $33,000. By choosing a city with a wealth of options for wedding essentials, such as florists, videographers, and venues, couples can benefit from competitive pricing and greater scheduling flexibility.

Chip Lupo, an analyst with WalletHub, emphasized the significance of affordability and variety in wedding planning. He noted, “When weddings can cost tens of thousands of dollars and prices have only become even more outrageously inflated in recent years, it pays to hold your wedding in a city that’s affordable, both for those paying for the wedding and for guests who will need to make accommodations. The more options a city has, the more likely you are to receive competitive pricing and to find places that can work with your optimal schedule.”

The study underscores the value of Tampa’s wedding-friendly attributes, ensuring it remains a desirable location for couples planning their nuptials in the coming years.

According to WalletHub, the average couple spends around $33,000 for their big day.

“Tying the knot is a huge commitment, and the wedding industry in 2024 was worth nearly $63.3 billion, down quite a bit from $78 billion a few years earlier,” WalletHub said.

Orlando was placed in second due to the high availability of essential wedding services, including venues, party equipment rentals, videographers, DJs, and florists.

Miami was ranked third for its beach weddings as well as vendors, makeup artists, and bridal shops.
