President Donald Trump has followed through on his promise to contact Savannah Guthrie, offering his support as efforts continue to locate her missing mother.
During a Special Report with NBC News on Wednesday, February 4, Tom Llamas confirmed that the 79-year-old president reached out to Guthrie to provide “words of support for her and her family during their search.”
Llamas noted that Trump assured the Guthrie family that all necessary resources would be made available, as reported by People.
The former host of The Apprentice had previously announced his intention to contact the Today show anchor during this challenging period.
“I think it’s terrible… It’s a terrible thing,” Trump remarked at a press conference. “I have always had a good rapport with Savannah. It’s a very unusual situation, but we are committed to getting to the bottom of it.”
The White House confirmed that Trump “called and spoke with Savannah Guthrie” on Wednesday, People reported.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen Saturday evening when her daughter, Annie Guthrie, dropped her off at home after a family dinner. When friends noticed her absence during her regular church service, they alerted the family. After a search of her home and property, Guthrie’s children called 911 around noon on Sunday.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos revealed that investigators have reason to believe she was taken from her Tucson, Arizona, home “against her will,” and may have been “harmed” in the process.
As of Wednesday morning, there are “no suspects or persons of interest” in the case.
