Kamala Harris Revitalizes Campaign Strategy with Dynamic X and TikTok Partnership

(The Hill) — In an effort to energize young voters before the upcoming midterms, former Vice President Kamala Harris is set to reactivate her 2024 campaign presence on social media platforms X and TikTok this Thursday. This move is part of a fresh initiative aimed at youth engagement.

On Wednesday, the KamalaHQ account on X teased followers with a mysterious video. The clip showed various failed attempts to access the account, using passwords like “waytooonline,” “thebabysitterisweird,” and “project2025wasreal.” Eventually, the correct password “headquarters” was entered, leading to a black screen displaying the word “Tomorrow.”

In collaboration with People For the American Way, a progressive nonprofit, Harris has revamped her social media into a new entity called Headquarters. According to a statement acquired by NewsNation, an affiliate of The Hill, this initiative is described as a “youth mobilization organization” focused on “next-generation campaigning.”

The mission of Headquarters is to rally young people who support fairness and democracy, standing against far-right extremism. Harris, who mounted an unsuccessful campaign against President Donald Trump in 2024, will serve as the “chair emerita” of this organization.

Headquarters’ goal is to “mobilize pro-fairness, pro-democracy young people against far-right extremism. The former vice president, who ran an unsuccessful bid against President Donald Trump in 2024, will be the organization’s “chair emerita.”

“I have good news,” Harris said in a YouTube short video posted late Wednesday night. “So KamalaHQ is turning into Headquarters and it’s where you can go online to get basically the latest of what’s going on, and also to meet and revisit with some of our great, courageous leaders, be they elected leaders, community leaders, civic leaders, faith leaders, young leaders.”

“I’m really excited about it,” she continued. “So stay engaged and I’ll see you out there.”

Harris is seen as a potential contender for the 2028 Democratic presidential primary election. She toured across the country last year to promote her memoir “107 Days,” focused on her brief White House bid, and faced questions about running again.

She later teased in an interview with the BBC that she’s “not done” with public service.

The book ruffled feathers within the Democratic Party, as statements made about former President Joe Biden, former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) and California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) received pushback.

Harris frequently criticizes the actions and polices of the Trump administration. She most recently pushed back on the administration last week after former CNN host Don Lemon was arrested in Los Angeles.

“Today, Donald Trump and his administration are once again trampling on our rights and our freedoms. Journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort were fulfilling their duty to the American people to report and inform, and they have been arrested for it,” the former vice president wrote in a statement.

“Donald Trump continues to consolidate power and show a flagrant disregard for the rule of law,” she added at the time. “This arrest is another affront to our rights and freedoms and should alarm and enrage us.”
