PARIS, Ill. (WCIA) — Following a duo of urgent responses on Wednesday, the Fire Chief of Paris, Zack Janis, emphasized the importance of natural gas and carbon monoxide safety.

Chief Janis took to Facebook to elaborate on the second, more critical incident. A vehicle collided with a residence located near Blackburn and Vance Streets, disrupting the natural gas line.

“The driver promptly informed Ameren, while fire teams secured the location by closing Blackburn Street in both directions to protect the public as the issue was addressed,” Janis stated. “Ameren Illinois swiftly arrived and completed the necessary repairs.”
