(NEXSTAR) – Traces of blood discovered near the entrance of Nancy Guthrie’s residence have been confirmed to belong to the 84-year-old, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos announced on Thursday.

Nanos expressed the belief that Guthrie remains alive, even though it’s uncertain if she’s accessing her essential medications. Authorities continue to search for her whereabouts.

The last sighting of Guthrie was on Saturday evening when her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, dropped her off at her Tucson, Arizona residence. According to Nanos, Guthrie had spent the evening dining with Cioni and her daughter, Annie, who resides close by, as reported by The New York Times.

Concerned family members reported her disappearance on Sunday after they learned from a churchgoer that Guthrie had not attended her regular service. Since then, authorities have been actively searching for her, emphasizing her vulnerability due to “physical ailments and the necessity for medication.”

As the investigation enters its fifth day, Sheriff Nanos acknowledged that no suspects have been identified thus far.

The FBI is now offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to Guthrie, or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance. The non-profit 88-CRIME previously offered a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest, while Victory Church in Albany, New York, has offered a $25,000 reward for information that leads to finding Guthrie, The Associated Press reported on Wednesday.

The FBI also acknowledged the alleged ransom notes that multiple media outlets received earlier this week.

Heith Janke, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Phoenix Office, said Thursday that a person behind an alleged imposter ransom note had been arrested but additional details were not immediately available.
