In a press conference held on Thursday, Arizona police provided an update on the troubling disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of well-known television personality Savannah Guthrie. The authorities, alongside the FBI, are actively pursuing leads in the hope of locating the 84-year-old, who is believed to have been abducted from her residence in Tucson.

Despite her limited mobility, officials are hopeful that Nancy Guthrie is still alive. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos expressed this sentiment, stating that the investigation is ongoing with concerted efforts to track down any potential clues. The discovery of blood on Nancy’s front steps has been confirmed to be hers, yet this has not led to any suspects or persons of interest being identified in the case thus far.

During the briefing, Sheriff Nanos outlined a timeline concerning the events surrounding her disappearance. Nancy Guthrie was last seen when she was dropped off at her home on Saturday night. Shortly thereafter, her home security camera disconnected from the network. Notably, the security system’s software recorded activity around 30 minutes following the disconnection, but unfortunately, the footage is no longer available as it operates on a looping system.

Importantly, Sheriff Nanos mentioned that there is no evidence to suggest the home camera was intentionally damaged. As the investigation continues, the focus remains on uncovering new leads that could shed light on this unsettling case.

Nanos said there is no indication the home camera was destroyed.

Additionally, sources told The New York Post about evidence — specifically blood and signs of forced entry– which suggested foul play is involved in Nancy Guthrie’s ongoing disappearance. They also noted that her life-saving medication was left behind, further suggesting this case is an abduction. However, Nanos said on Thursday that he has “no clue” where the information about forced entry came from.

The FBI said a $50,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to Nancy Guthrie.
