In a turn of events before the festive season, Teresa reconciled with her brother Joe Gorga and his wife, Melissa, following a period of tension. The two families then celebrated Christmas together, marking their first joint holiday in several years.

During her appearance on the podcast Not Skinny But Not Fat, Melissa appeared to critique RHOBH, noting the cast’s tendency to keep their romantic lives under wraps.

“I enjoy watching Beverly Hills, but I feel like they do get away with murder when it comes to not sharing everything,” Melissa remarked. “In contrast, our cast gets called out if we don’t reveal what we had for lunch yesterday, let alone who we’re seeing romantically.”

“I like Beverly Hills, [but] I do feel like Beverly Hills does get away with murder a little bit when it comes to like not telling us everything,” said Melissa. “[My cast] get[s] in trouble if we don’t tell you what we ate yesterday, let alone who we’re dating.”

As for RHONJ, Melissa shared what she wishes wasn’t filmed.

“[My son’s] christening,” she said, referring to the infamous brawl between the Gorgas and Giudices on Melissa’s first season. “That was hard. I cried for three weeks after that. Quit. Cried. Oh yeah. I called. I was like, ‘Goodbye, like, motherf**kers,’ basically.”

Later on, Melissa hinted that some castmates falsely claim they can get certain people on RHONJ.

“Anyone who tells [people] they can get them on the show is lying,” said Melissa. “I can love five people and call Bravo all day and say they’re the best. They do not care. They need to feel they’re the best.”

“There’s cast members maybe that promise people like ‘I can get [you on the show].’ You cannot,” she continued. “Nobody’s getting anybody on the show, and nobody’s getting anyone kicked off the show.”

At one point, Melissa shared who instigated the holiday invite.

“I [extended the invite]. I was speaking to Joe about it, and he’s like, let’s just have them all come here for Christmas Eve,” said Melissa, via @realhousewifeofwestchester on Instagram. “And I think he called her and said like, ‘Come. Come to our house for Christmas Eve.’ And it was great. We had so much fun. We were up to like two o’clock in the morning playing pool. Gia was having so much fun with my sons. All their friends came over. They were all like playing poker. It was a really good time.”

Melissa was asked if their kids stayed in touch during the family feud. “No. So that’s why this was a big deal for us,” she answered. “[They were] so happy.”
