Recently released video footage captures the initial moments of a surgeon’s time in jail, following serious allegations that he murdered his former wife and her spouse.

Michael McKee, aged 39, was taken into custody at the Franklin County Corrections Center. This follows the tragic deaths of his ex-wife, Monique Tempe, also 39, and her 37-year-old husband, Dr. Spencer Tepe.

Authorities allege that McKee shot the couple to death in their Ohio residence during the early hours of December 30.

He was apprehended on January 10 in Rockford, Illinois, and subsequently transferred back to Ohio to face charges.

Footage obtained by Fox News depicts McKee’s initial moments in custody, showing him during processing with his hands nonchalantly tucked into his jacket pockets.

McKee was seen being patted down by officers while wearing a blue t-shirt and red shorts.

He placed his hands on the counter and opened his mouth before gesturing to his glasses.

McKee was then given jail-issued tan sliders and appeared to remain calm while he cooperated and chatted with the officers.

A surgeon’s fingerprints

The surgeon was then escorted back out of the room wearing a blank expression and taken into custody.

He faces four charges of aggravated murder and an additional charge of aggravated burglary in Franklin County.

McKee pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.

Investigators said McKee was spotted outside his ex-wife’s home in Weinland Park, a neighborhood outside of downtown Columbus, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Columbus Dispatch.

Surveillance camera footage allegedly showed the surgeon outside his ex-wife’s home on December 6, about three weeks before the Tepes were found fatally shot.

The couple was away that weekend to attend a Big Ten Championship Game in Indiana.

McKee had allegedly been driving a silver SUV, which investigators spotted multiple times near his ex-wife’s home before she was murdered.

The affidavit noted that the SUV had a sticker on the window with a stolen Ohio license plate.

The vehicle’s registration was also allegedly linked to past addresses McKee had lived at and a hospital where he used to work.

Chest wounds and silencers

Investigators discovered that McKee’s phone had no activity from December 29 until after noon on December 30, according to the affidavit.

Law enforcement previously said that they believed the couple was killed just before 4am.

Their bodies were found around six hours later.

Monique was found with a gunshot wound to her chest, and Spencer suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Their one-year-old son, four-year-old daughter, and dog were found in the home unharmed.

Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant said after McKee’s arrest that he had a gun with him when he was detained.

‘Multiple weapons were taken from the property of McKee, and there is a preliminary link to one of the weapons that ties it to the homicides,’ the police chief said at a press conference.

From 2015 divorce to 2026 murder

‘What we can say, this was a targeted attack.’

‘This was a domestic violence-related attack, as we know McKee is the ex-husband of Monique Tepe.’

‘We believe at this point we have the person responsible for the murders of Monique and Spencer Tepe, and that person is Michael McKee,’ Bryant added.

McKee and Monique were briefly married and divorced in 2015. In her complaint for divorce, Monique said she was ‘incompatible’ with her then-husband, according to court records previously seen by the Daily Mail.

Ahead of a memorial service for the couple, a relative told the Daily Mail that McKee’s arrest was ‘absolutely not a shock’ to the family and they had been expecting it.

‘We are all breathing a bit of a sigh of relief, because they got him,’ they added.

McKee remains in custody in Franklin County and is being held without bond.

Report: New detail emerges of surgeon killer using a silencer

An Illinois surgeon accused of murdering his ex-wife and her dentist husband used a silencer to shoot them dead while the couple’s children were in the house, prosecutors say.

Michael McKee, 39, has been accused of killing his ex-wife Monique Tepe and her husband Spencer Tepe in their home in Ohioon December 30.

He was arrested near Chicago last week after a 10-day manhunt that gripped the nation, and grand jury officially indicted him in Franklin County, Ohio, on Friday.

McKee was indicted on four charges of aggravated murder with the use of an automatic firearm with a silencer and one charge of aggravated burglary.

He appeared in court in Illinois on Monday where he waived his right to an extradition hearing and is expected to be transported to Ohio in the coming days, WSYX reported.

In a press conference Wednesday, Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant said the alleged killer still had the gunon his person when he was arrested.

Bryant said McKee was tracked from the murder scene with surveillance cameras, which led to a vehicle he owned.

‘Multiple weapons were taken from the property of McKee, and there is a preliminary link to one of the weapons that ties it to the homicides,’ the police chief said.

‘What we can say, this was a targeted attack.

This was a domestic violence-related attack, as we know McKee is the ex-husband of Monique Tepe.

‘We believe at this point we have the person responsible for the murders of Monique and Spencer Tepe, and that person is Michael McKee.’

The couple’s bodies were discovered at their $700,000 home.

Monique was found shot once in the chest and Spencer suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Their one-year-old son, four-year-old daughter, and dog were discovered unhurt and are in the care of relatives.

The family of an Ohio dentist accused of murder speaks out

The family of an Ohio dentist and his wife who were allegedly shot dead by her cardiovascular surgeon ex-husband has broken their silence for the first time, with a relative revealing they suspected the alleged killer was behind the crime.

Mother-of-two Monique Tepe, 39, and her second husband, Spencer Tepe, 37, were discovered shot dead in their home in Weinland Park, Columbus, on December 30.

On Saturday, Monique’s ex-husband, Michael David McKee, 39, was charged with two counts of murder over the brutal double homicide.

News of McKee’s arrest came just one day before grieving friends and family gathered to remember the Tepes on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking ahead of the service, a Tepe relative, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Daily Mail they were not surprised by McKee’s (pictured) arrest, but felt relieved to know their alleged killer is behind bars.

They said: ‘It was absolutely not a shock to anybody, we had all expected it, but we weren’t saying that, because we didn’t want to compromise the investigation.’

‘We are all breathing a bit of a sigh of relief, because they got him.’

When asked if they knew of any problems Monique and Spencer had had with McKee recently, the relative replied: ‘Not that I’m aware of.’

Spencer suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and Monique was shot once in the chest.

Their one-year-old son, four-year-old daughter, and dog were found unharmed and are currently in the care of loved ones.
