A confirmed case of measles has emerged at St. Petersburg Catholic High School, causing concern among students, parents, and staff. The Diocese of St. Petersburg promptly reached out to the school community, ensuring everyone was informed through a detailed email.
In this communication, the school clarified that the affected student, a sophomore, had not attended classes since January 27. This information aims to reassure parents and guardians that the risk of immediate exposure is minimized.
At present, the school has not reported any additional cases. However, they emphasized the importance of vigilance. Parents were advised to monitor their children for any symptoms of measles and to keep affected individuals at home while seeking medical attention promptly.
