Halle Berry Finds Love Again: Engaged to Van Hunt After Overcoming Past Marriage Challenges

Despite experiencing three marriages that didn’t last, Halle Berry remains optimistic about finding enduring love. On Thursday, she announced that she is engaged to her Grammy-winning partner, Van Hunt.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 59-year-old Oscar-winning actress addressed some circulating rumors. “There’s some misunderstanding that he proposed and I declined,” Berry shared.

“That’s not true,” she clarified. “I didn’t say no. We just haven’t set a date yet.”

With a smile, Berry added, “But of course, I said yes! He did give me a ring.”

While she humorously described the ring as “little,” it is anything but small. The distinctive piece features a striking center diamond, framed by a square cut design, and set on a substantial gold band.

The Crime 101 action star was referring to her interview with The Cut on Monday where she revealed the 55-year-old neo soul artist had proposed last June, and she ‘hadn’t said yes’ but would make an exception for ‘health reasons’ due to the access that comes with a legal spouse.

Berry was first set up with Hunt through his brother during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020, but they only texted and talked on the phone until their first date four months later.

‘After my third divorce, people started to say, “What’s wrong with her? She’s crazy. She can’t keep a man,”‘ the Re-spin co-founder recalled to the mag.

‘I pretty much stopped doing interviews for a decade because I got tired of the same old story. It was always: “Poor Halle — Unlucky in Love Again.”‘

Berry continued: ‘And I would always argue, “Who says I want to keep a man if he’s not the right man?” I’m in the best relationship I have ever had.’

After a beat, Berry confirmed: ‘But of course I said I would marry him! He did put a little ring on it’
