HINESVILLE, Ga. — In a heartwarming tribute, Bradwell Institute paid homage to Rhonda “Faye” Baker for her remarkable 31-year tenure as the girls’ basketball coach with an unexpected celebration in the school gymnasium on Thursday.
The event, cleverly disguised as an ordinary pep rally, kicked off with a touching slideshow chronicling Baker’s illustrious career with the team. The presentation included heartfelt messages from family and friends, showering her with praise and appreciation.
As the celebration unfolded, her players each displayed posters that detailed the significant milestones of her life, both on and off the court.
The highlight of the ceremony came when Hinesville Mayor Karl A. Riles officially acknowledged Baker’s contributions and achievements.
Baker and her team were also reveling in a record-breaking season, with the Lady Tigers achieving an impeccable 24-0 record in the regular season.
Bradwell’s next game will be a postseason matchup at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, in the Class AAAAA Region-1 semi-final, with their opponent to be determined.
