In a heartfelt appeal, Savannah Guthrie, alongside her siblings, reached out to the potential captors of their mother, Nancy. Their emotional request was made amidst rising concerns following her mysterious disappearance.

In a tearful message posted on Instagram Feb. 4, Savannah and her sister Annie and brother Camron spoke directly to anyone who may have taken Nancy Guthrie, requesting proof of life and insisting they were “ready to talk.”

“We, as a family, are leaving no stone unturned,” Savannah said, emphasizing their readiness for dialogue. “We live in an era where voices and images can be easily altered. We need undeniable proof that she is alive and in your custody. We are willing to listen and urge you to contact us.” Her words resonate deeply, reflecting the family’s desperation and hope.

The Today show co-host’s remarks came after several media organizations reportedly received a ransom note linked to Nancy’s disappearance. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed the receipt of such a note to CBS News, though he declined to reveal any specifics about what it contained.

Savannah and her siblings have called on the public to maintain its support as investigators race against time to locate Nancy. Her well-being is especially concerning due to her physical limitations and reliance on essential medication.

“Our family is profoundly grateful for the outpouring of prayers for our cherished mom, Nancy. We feel them, and we have faith that she does as well,” Savannah shared. “Nancy is a woman of great kindness, faith, and love. She’s a joy, full of humor, spirit, and cleverness. Her grandchildren adore her, showering her with kisses. She revels in fun and adventure, is a devoted friend, and is abundant in kindness and wisdom. If you converse with her, you’ll see her true essence.”

The video then turned to Savannah’s sister Annie, who called their missing mother “the light” in their lives.

“She is our beacon. She holds fast to joy in all of life’s circumstances, she chooses joy day after day, despite having already passed through great trials of pain and grief,” Annie shared. “We are always going to be merely human. Just normal human people who need our mom.”

“Mama, if you’re listening, we need you to come home,” she continued. “We miss you.”

Savannah added “Our mom is our heart and our home,” before sharing her mom’s unique health needs that make the situation even more dire.

“She is 84 years old. Her health, her heart is fragile. She lives in constant pain,” she said. “She is without any medicine. She needs it to survive and she needs it not to suffer.”

Savannah then turned her focus to her mom’s possible captors, asking them to reach out to the family and provide evidence that Nancy was safe.

Savannah—who has been absent from her duties on Today and pulled out of hosting the opening ceremony for the 2026 Olympics—then addressed her mother directly.

“Mommy, if you are hearing this, you are a strong woman,” she tearfully remarked. “You are God’s precious daughter, Nancy. We believe and know that even in this valley, he is with you. Everyone is looking for you, mommy, everywhere, we will not rest. Your children will not rest until we are together again.”

Nancy disappeared from her Tucson-area home sometime after she was dropped off by a family member Jan. 31 around 9:30 p.m. or 9:45 p.m. When she failed to show up to church the next morning, a churchgoer alerted the family, who called 911 to report her missing around noon on February. 1.
