In Savannah, Georgia, two women have come forward to share their harrowing encounters with a man they describe as a serial stalker, recently arrested by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect, 24-year-old Nathaniel Crawford, faces charges of attempted kidnapping and stalking following his arrest on January 29.
The Sheriff’s Office has reported that since calling for information from the public, they have received 16 complaints concerning Crawford’s behavior. This community outreach highlights the extent of the alleged misconduct and the impact it has had on numerous individuals.
Two of Crawford’s alleged victims, choosing to remain anonymous due to safety concerns, have spoken about their unsettling experiences. Referred to as Victim One and Victim Two, both women described how their initial friendships with Crawford took a dark turn. They recounted how he became aggressive when denied sexual advances and how he would persistently send inappropriate messages and make uninvited visits to their homes.
Two separate women sat down and spoke with about their run-ins with Crawford. They choose to remain anonymous due to fears for their safety.
The women, who will be referenced as victim one and victim two in this article, each shared how they started as Crawford’s friends, but he eventually became volent when he was denied sexual acts. They recalled moments when he would send inappropriate messages and show up to their homes unannounced.
“He came to my house at four in the morning,” victim one said. “He told me to come outside the I was like, No, I’m going to go to bed. He started kicking my door and for like 10 minutes he stopped. He left and he came back and he broke my bedroom window with my room window.”
After Crawford broke her window, she called the police and filed a report. After that she never heard or saw him again, victim one said.
Victim two said she met Crawford when they were kids, but when she came back to visit Savannah, she never expected him to act the way he did.
“He put out threats against me, saying he was going to kill me if I didn’t do this and do that,” victim two said. “He showed up unannounced, would not leave. He would not leave, he said outside the door, banging on the door “
Both victims said they couldn’t sleep at night and felt unsafe meeting new people after Crawford came into their lives.
“It got so horrible to the point where I lost sleep. I cannot sleep,” victim two said.
Victim one said, “I couldn’t sleep. I was terrified he was going to come back and snatch me.”
They said when they were informed of Crawfords arrest they were relieved, but shocked to see how many other victims shared similar stories.
“I was surprised because I didn’t realize that it was so many victims,” victim one said.
A CCSO spokesperson said Crawford will be taken into custody again on Feb. 2 on charges of terroristic threats and related criminal acts.
