Khloe Kardashian’s young son is keeping the memory of her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., alive in a heartwarming way.
The reality television star shared that her 3-year-old son, Tatum Thompson—whom she co-parents with ex Tristan Thompson—has taken to calling his grandmother, Kris Jenner, by a cherished nickname once used by the Kardashian family patriarch.
In a conversation with Theresa Caputo on the February 4 episode of Khloe in Wonder Land, Khloe revealed, “My mom’s grandma name is Lovey. My son Tatum calls her Honey.”
Kris Jenner is deeply touched by this spontaneous choice of name. Khloe noted that her mother “would start bawling” each time Tatum referred to her as Honey, a name that holds special significance.
“That’s what your dad used to call me,” Kris would say, according to Khloe, who emphasized that none of the family had prompted Tatum to use this endearing term.
That’s why Khloe—who was 5 years old when her parents separated, before Robert passed away in 2003 from esophageal cancer at age 59—believes there’s a spiritual link between her father and her son.
