Super Bowl 60 is set to dazzle fans with an impressive lineup of entertainers, with Green Day making an early appearance to kick off the event.

While Bad Bunny is slated to electrify audiences during the halftime show and Charlie Puth is entrusted with singing the national anthem, the iconic band famous for “Wake Me Up When September Ends” will perform during a special opening ceremony that celebrates the rich history of the game. Here’s what you need to know to catch all the action.

When and Where Does Green Day Perform at the Super Bowl?

Green Day is set to take the stage at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT during the Super Bowl 60 opening ceremony on Sunday.

This ceremony precedes the traditional pregame activities, which include Charlie Puth’s rendition of the national anthem. The highly anticipated kickoff for Super Bowl 60 is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. PT.

Where to Stream Green Day’s Super Bowl Performance — and Super Bowl 60

Fans can catch Green Day’s performance live on NBC, with Spanish-language broadcasts on Telemundo and Universo. For those who prefer streaming, the entire ceremony and Super Bowl coverage will be available on Peacock.

Cord-cutters can also watch via live TV streaming services that carry NBC, including YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, DirecTV Stream, and Sling TV. In other words: if you can stream the Super Bowl, you can stream Green Day.

Will Green Day Perform With Bad Bunny — and Why Are They Playing?

No crossover here. Green Day is not scheduled to perform during the Super Bowl 60 halftime show with Bad Bunny. Their set is reserved exclusively for the opening ceremony.

The performance is part of the NFL’s celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Super Bowl. According to NFL.com, the tribute will honor the league’s history as generations of past Super Bowl MVPs are recognized on the field.

There’s also a hometown connection: Green Day hails from Berkeley, California, just across the bay from Levi’s Stadium, where Super Bowl 60 is being held. The NFL has dubbed the band a “hometown opening act.”

What Songs Will Green Day Play?

Green Day is expected to perform a “selection of their best-known anthems” during the tribute, according to NFL.com.

While an official setlist hasn’t been announced, the band’s biggest hits include “Basket Case,” “American Idiot,” “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” “Wake Me Up When September Ends,” “Holiday,” and “21 Guns.”

Who Is Green Day, and What’s Their Biggest Hit?

Green Day is a trio made up of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool, formed in the East Bay subregion of the San Francisco Bay Area in 1987.

As for their biggest hit, it depends how you measure it. “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 36 weeks on the chart, while “Basket Case” leads on Spotify with nearly 1.5 billion streams, followed by “American Idiot” at 1.3 billion.

“Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and “Wake Me Up When September Ends” have also crossed 1 billion streams each.
