BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – The crew preparing for the upcoming mission to the International Space Station is set to address the public on Monday, just days before their scheduled launch.

NASA has announced a press briefing for 11 a.m. Monday, where details of the mission will be unveiled.

The NASA SpaceX Crew-12 mission is slated for takeoff from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, with the launch window opening at 6:01 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, as per NASA’s schedule.

Leading the Crew-12 mission is NASA astronaut Jessica Meir as commander, alongside pilot Jack Hathaway. They will be joined by mission specialists Sophie Adenot from the European Space Agency and Andrey Fedyaev from Roscosmos for a media session at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.

The upcoming launch comes after the hasty return and successful splashdown of Crew-11, who had their mission cut short this month in light of an unidentified astronaut’s non-specified medical issue.

Should the launch happen, docking at the International Space Station will take place on Thursday, Feb. 12.

News 6 will livestream both the news conference and the launch when they happen.
