Man Successfully Rescued After Electric Wheelchair Accident in Warrenville River

WARRENVILLE, S.C. () – On Monday morning, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident involving a man in an electric wheelchair who accidentally ended up in the Sand River.

The mishap occurred just before 9:00 a.m. at a small overpass located between the 400 and 500 blocks of Augusta Road in Warrenville, South Carolina.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office reported receiving an emergency call about a man in a wheelchair who was partially submerged in the river, situated just north of the intersection of Dibble Road and Augusta Road.

Emergency crews promptly arrived at the scene and successfully rescued the individual from the water. An ambulance was called to provide medical attention, as stated by authorities.

Details regarding any injuries or their severity were not immediately available.
