In TUCSON, Ariz., the FBI has unveiled videos linked to the Nancy Guthrie case, identifying a masked individual they describe as a “subject” in the ongoing investigation.

FBI Director Kash Patel shared the footage on X, revealing a person near the entrance of Guthrie’s residence. The individual approaches a doorbell camera, obscures it with a fist, then turns away and departs from the doorstep. The figure is clad in long sleeves, pants, gloves, and a backpack.

Patel explained, “For the past eight days, the FBI, in collaboration with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and private sector partners, has been diligently working to retrieve any images or video from Nancy Guthrie’s home that were lost, damaged, or otherwise inaccessible, partly due to the removal of recording devices.”

“The recovered footage was sourced from residual data in backend systems. With the assistance of our partners, law enforcement has now accessed new images showing an armed individual seemingly tampering with the camera at Guthrie’s front door on the morning she went missing,” added Patel.

Shortly after the images were shared, NBC law enforcement and national intelligence reporter Tom Winter noted that the Guthrie family does not recognize the person depicted. He also highlighted that the individual appears to have a gun tucked in their waistband.

NBC’s “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie, Nancy’s mother, also shared the images on her Instagram account.

“We believe she is still alive,” she said. “Bring her home.”

About a half hour after the first video was released, the FBI posted a second video to its X account.

That video, three seconds long, shows the same person walking towards the door, but turning their face leftward away from the camera.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department echoed Patel’s message in an X post of their own.

Guthrie, 84, is the daughter of NBC’s “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie. She has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1.

So far, no suspects have been named in the case.
