Recently unveiled images by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) depict an individual clad in a full-face balaclava seemingly interfering with a front door camera at the residence of a US TV host’s mother, who has been unaccounted for over the past ten days.

Shared by FBI Director Kash Patel on his X account, the six photographs and three videos reveal a masked figure on an empty doorstep at night, captured in haunting black and white visuals.

Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Savannah Guthrie, co-host of NBC News Today, is suspected to have been abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home. This incident occurred on the night of January 31 or in the early hours of February 1, igniting a widespread search in a case that has captivated the nation.

Patel mentioned, “The video was retrieved from residual data in backend systems,” indicating the footage depicts “an armed person seemingly tampering with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning she vanished.”

As of now, authorities have not identified any suspects or individuals of interest in the ongoing investigation.

Investigators had been hopeful that cameras at the home would turn up some evidence about how she went missing but the doorbell camera was disconnected early on Sunday.

And while software data recorded movement at the home minutes later, Nancy Guthrie did not have an active subscription so none of the footage could be recovered, Pima County sheriff Chris Nanos had said.

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt began a media briefing by saying she and President Donald Trump had just reviewed the newly released imagery.

“The president encourages any American across the country with any knowledge of the suspect to please call the FBI,” she said.
