Although Swift has revealed that she won’t be touring for her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, her fans are still hopeful to catch her live performance on one of the world’s biggest stages—the Super Bowl halftime show.
In a survey involving 3,000 NFL enthusiasts, Taylor Swift topped the list as the most desired headliner for the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show, according to a spokesperson from VegasInsider.com in a conversation with Showbiz Cheat Sheet. Swift not only clinched the top spot overall but also dominated as the preferred choice in 22 states, leading among fans of 13 NFL teams, and resonating equally well with both male and female respondents.
Swift has consistently been the fan favorite for several consecutive years, signaling that the enthusiasm for her potential halftime show remains strong.
“For the past four years that we have been conducting the Super Bowl halftime show poll, Taylor Swift has persistently emerged as the top pick,” the spokesperson added, highlighting the enduring demand for her performance. Following Swift, the second and third positions for the most wanted halftime show performers in 2027 are occupied by British icons Elton John—who surprisingly hasn’t headlined the show yet—and Adele.
“Additionally, over the last four years we have been conducting the Super Bowl halftime show survey, Taylor Swift has been named the most wanted headliner every single year, showing that demand for her to perform isn’t fading,” they continued. “Rounding out the top three most wanted halftime show headliners for 2027 are British artists: Elton John – who has surprisingly never headlined before – in the second spot and Adele at No. 3.”
People also want to see artists including Ariana Grande, Post Malone, and Mariah Carey.
Taylor Swift shared why she hasn’t played the Super Bowl halftime show
Given Swift’s popularity, it feels a little surprising that she hasn’t played the halftime show. She said that while she’s had conversations about it, she has never received an official offer.
“Jay-Z has always been very good to me, our teams are really close, they sometimes will call and say, ‘How does she feel about the Super Bowl?’ and that’s not an official offer or a conference room conversation,” she said on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.
Swift said that she didn’t think she should play the halftime show while having a partner in the NFL. She has been with Travis Kelce since 2023.
“We’re always able to tell him the truth, which is I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field,” she said, adding, “That is violent chess. That is gladiators without swords. That is dangerous. The whole season, I am locked in on what that man is doing on the field. Could you imagine if he’s out there every single week, putting his life on the line, doing this very dangerous, very high-pressure, high-intensity sport, and I’m like, I wonder what my choreo should be?”
She has previously attended the game as a fan
While Swift has not played the halftime show, she has attended the Super Bowl as a fan. Kelce played in the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs. She attended the game in 2024 and 2025.
This year, Kelce watched the game as a fan. Swift did not attend with him, though.
