Renowned media figure Daddy Freeze has expressed his disapproval towards those suggesting that well-known streamer Peller give up content creation to pursue academics.
In his commentary, Freeze pointed to the success of American YouTuber IShowSpeed, highlighting the potential financial rewards within the digital content industry.
He noted that the streamer reportedly earns a staggering $800,000 monthly, yet views this sum as insufficient considering the labor invested.
“IShowSpeed recently mentioned that his YouTube earnings of $800,000 a month feel inadequate. That translates to 1.2 billion naira monthly, yet it’s deemed too meager for his efforts. And some suggest Peller should abandon his craft to head back to school?”
“Do you earn $100,000 annually? Many residing in Canada, America, and the UK don’t even reach $200,000 a year. Look at the massive figures these young creators are discussing.”
According to Freeze, secondary school education remains the only compulsory academic level.
He explained that professions such as medicine, law, engineering, and pharmacy require formal university training.
However, for creatives who are already thriving in the digital space, he questioned the relevance.
While some Nigerians agreed with Freeze, others maintained that formal education still provides structure and long-term security beyond internet fame.
It would be recalled that IShowSpeed visited Nigeria weeks ago during his African tour to celebrate his 21st birthday.
During the visit, Peller attempted to meet him but was allegedly denied access by his security officials.
The conversation continues to trend online as many weigh the balance between education and financial success in today’s evolving digital landscape.
