In Savannah, Georgia, Thursday brought a delightful blend of sunshine and mild temperatures, peaking between the mid-60s and lower 70s. As we transition into Friday, prepare for a crisp morning chill, though the afternoon promises to deliver similar mild conditions.

Expect Friday morning temperatures to dip into the upper 30s to lower 40s. Fortunately, a high-pressure system will dominate, ensuring clear skies and dry air that will allow afternoon temperatures to rise comfortably into the lower to mid-60s.

Looking ahead to Saturday, Valentine’s Day offers promising weather for outdoor plans. Morning temperatures will start in the lower 40s, climbing to highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s—ideal for those planning romantic outings.

However, keep an eye on the sky as cloud cover is anticipated to increase throughout the day. While the chance of a few sporadic showers exists, significant rainfall is expected to hold off until the evening, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the day’s pleasant weather.

Cloud cover though will begin to increase throughout the day. While there is an off chance for a few spotty showers, most rain showers will hold off until the evening.

Sunday is expected to be a rainy and stormy day, especially in the afternoon and into the evening. Heavy rain is expected to begin to set up by the midafternoon and continue throughout the evening.

A few showers will linger into the overnight and early Monday morning.

Temperatures on Sunday are forecast to reach the lower 70s for highs, even with the rain. That will provide enough energy for us to have a few thunderstorms.

Gutsy wind will be the primary concern, but the overall risk for severe storms is low.

Heavy rainfall will lead to rain totals over 1.00″. Flooding is not a major concern now, but there may be some issues in areas with poor drainage.

Sunday’s heavy rain will help with the rainfall deficit and worsening drought situation that has been developing across the southeastern U.S. since late in 2025. Savannah is now 3.02″ of rain below normal year to date.

After Sunday’s system moves off of the coast, Monday will be partly cloudy and mild with highs remaining in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

A mainly dry and warm pattern will set up for the remainder of next week. High temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s are possible by Next Thursday and Friday.
