In Russell County, Virginia, a man has admitted guilt in a case involving the use of Snapchat to solicit sexually explicit images and videos from two young girls, both aged 12.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that 30-year-old Justin Steven Boileau confessed to two charges of child sexual exploitation on Wednesday.

According to the DOJ, Boileau, who previously resided in Reston, Virginia, used Snapchat to lure two young females from Southwest Virginia, referred to as Minor Victim One and Minor Victim Two, into engaging in explicit activities for the creation of visual materials.

Documents from the court reveal that Boileau initiated contact with Minor Victim One on Snapchat during the autumn of 2023. At the time, Boileau, then in his late 20s, was living in Reston, while the victim was a 12-year-old resident of Russell County.

Allegedly, Boileau deceived the victim by claiming to be a hockey player named “Josh” and engaged her in conversations that quickly turned sexually explicit. These exchanges reportedly persisted for several months, extending into early 2024.

During that time period, Boileau asked Minor Victim One for sexually explicit materials, and she sent him nude photos and videos, according to the DOJ. He also reportedly sent explicit images to her.

He also began speaking with Minor Victim Two in the early part of 2024 over Snapchat. Boileau had sexual conversations with the second victim, also a 12-year-old girl in Russell County. The second victim sent sexually explicit photos and videos of herself to Boileau.

The DOJ stated Boileau knew both victims were minors when asking for the photos and videos. The case was investigated by the FBI and the Russell County Sheriff’s Office.
