DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — In recognition of their exceptional efforts to keep intoxicated drivers off the streets, Decatur police officers received accolades from the state.
Two officers were honored for making over seventy DUI arrests each. They were awarded certificates by the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists, a state organization dedicated to acknowledging officers who excel in DUI enforcement.
Lieutenant Jon Quehl of the Decatur Police Department clarified that there is no current special DUI enforcement initiative. However, he emphasized that DUI arrests are a significant focus of their training, with officers encouraged to prioritize these efforts.
