Authorities from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office have reported that a group of unidentified individuals attempted to rob a teenager before a shooting incident occurred.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A teenager is fighting for his life after a robbery escalated into a shooting incident on the Northside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Shortly before noon on Friday, law enforcement officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Broward Road in the Highlands neighborhood following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a male in his late teens suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Preliminary investigations by the Sheriff’s Office have revealed that several unknown assailants attempted to rob the teenager’s apartment. Details regarding their method of entry and any potential connection between the suspects and the victim remain unclear.
