Angus Taylor has taken a strong stance against the Labor government, asserting that it has compromised the nation’s standard of living and failed to safeguard the Australian way of life.
Taylor pointed to issues such as the escalating cost of living and the recent terror incident at Bondi Beach as evidence of Labor’s alleged inadequacies.
Turning the spotlight on his own agenda, the newly appointed Liberal leader emphasized that restoring the standard of living is a top priority for his party.
“As Liberals, we advocate for reduced inflation, lower interest rates, and decreased taxes,” Taylor stated.
He further pledged to oppose what he described as Labor’s “detrimental” taxes, including levies on homes and taxes impacting the future of the younger generation.
Taylor also indicated the Liberals oppose net zero and high levels of immigration, while ensuring defence is properly funded.
“My message to Anthony Albanese is this: We will fight every bad tax, and every reckless spending policy that drives up inflation and keeps interest rates higher for longer.”
“The Liberal Party is under new leadership, and with that leadership will come change, because our country needs change for the better.”
