The Pima County Sheriff’s Office has verified that their current operation is linked to the case involving the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie.

In Tucson, Arizona, on Friday evening, the Pima County Sheriff’s SWAT team was active in a local neighborhood as part of the ongoing investigation concerning Nancy Guthrie.

A convoy consisting of sheriff’s vehicles and FBI units, including forensic teams, navigated through a roadblock positioned approximately two miles from Nancy Guthrie’s residence. She is the mother of Savannah Guthrie from the “Today” show. Pima County authorities announced via the platform X that no press briefing would occur that night, but a written update was expected soon.

Nancy Guthrie, who is 84, was last observed on Saturday, January 31. According to sheriff officials in the vicinity of her southern Arizona residence and the FBI, she was likely abducted from her home sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Earlier in the week, law enforcement released fresh video footage and images depicting an armed individual who allegedly interfered with the surveillance equipment at Nancy Guthrie’s home on the morning she went missing.

In posts on X, FBI Director Kash Patel shared four photos that showed a large figure wearing what appears to be a backpack and a ski mask, along with gloves and a zip-up jacket. What appears to be a gun can be seen in the waistband of the person.

In a series of videos released a few minutes later, the person is seen putting their hand in front of the camera, before grabbing some kind of plant from the front yard and sticking it in front of the lens to block it.

The FBI has launched a new webpage about Guthrie’s disappearance, featuring photos and videos from the case.

The story will be updated as more information becomes available.
