One of the highlights for those planning to celebrate is at Navy Pier, where a spectacular fireworks display is set to dazzle the night sky at 9 p.m. This promises to be a romantic treat for couples looking to make the evening memorable.

Earlier in the evening, visitors can enjoy a scenic ride on the Centennial Wheel, which will be specially illuminated in Valentine’s Day hues, adding a touch of magic to the romantic ambiance.

In line with the heightened excitement for this year’s Valentine’s Day, it’s anticipated that spending will reach an all-time high, with Americans expected to shell out a staggering $29 billion on gifts and experiences for their loved ones.

For those partaking in the festivities around the Chicago area, it’s worth noting that prices for traditional Valentine’s staples like chocolate and flowers are on the rise. So, planning ahead might save both time and money.

The Shedd Aquarium had an event for people feeling more rage than romance this Valentine’s Day. They were invited to Bob Mann Woods in LaGrange Park for “Nature’s Rage Room.”

People could blow off steam by cutting down and burning invasive European Buckthorn. It was a great way to work off frustration and show some love for the great outdoors.

Getting rid of the invasive European buckthorn will make room for native flora and fauna to grow, the Shedd says, and create better living conditions for toads, frogs and salamanders.
