The residents of Tampa Bay woke up to a mild morning, with temperatures comfortably settling in the low 60s. As the day progresses, expect a mix of sun and clouds before a cold front moves in, bringing increased chances of rain.

This approaching front poses a slight risk for strong to severe storms, with the potential for gusty winds and isolated tornadoes. Coastal areas might experience minor flooding as winds push water ashore. Rainfall is anticipated to vary, with most areas receiving between half an inch to an inch, though some locations might see up to two inches.

The line of showers and thunderstorms will make its way from the north, reaching Citrus and Hernando Counties by early evening, around 5 to 6 p.m. As it advances southward, Tampa and St. Petersburg can expect the weather to intensify between 7 and 10 p.m. The system will continue its southward journey, with scattered showers lingering into early Monday morning but clearing up by dawn.

Anticipate gusty winds from the south this afternoon, possibly reaching speeds of 30 to 40 mph. Once the line passes, winds will shift westward, ushering in slightly cooler air. Monday will start in the low 60s and climb to the low 70s by the afternoon.

While the sun will make an appearance, the day will remain cool with drier air settling in. This brief cool spell will quickly give way to warmer temperatures as the week progresses.

It will be dry with highs back in the mid and upper 70s to near 80 degrees for the rest of the week.
