The Miami Dolphins are undergoing significant changes, and the next major shift might involve parting ways with their starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa.

In a surprising move on Monday, the team released two key All-Pro players: wide receiver Tyreek Hill and defensive end Bradley Chubb. These decisions signal a potential end to Tagovailoa’s tenure in Miami, as reports suggest the team is actively seeking trade opportunities.

Kalshi, a New York City-based prediction market, indicates there’s a 70 percent likelihood that Tagovailoa will not be on Miami’s roster come the 2026 season.

With Tagovailoa’s future in Miami uncertain, teams such as the Falcons (29 percent), Cardinals (14 percent), Rams (13 percent), and Vikings (11 percent) are emerging as possible destinations where he might continue his NFL career.

It’s been an up-and-down tenure for Tagovailoa on the Dolphins.

Selected fifth overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, a multitude of expectations were on the left-handed signal caller coming out of Alabama.

He had a breakout season in 2023, throwing for a career-best 4,624 yards and 29 touchdowns, leading Miami to an 11-6 record and a Wild Card berth.

Tagovailoa was named the 2023 NFL Comeback Player of the Year, and Miami was convinced it had its future, signing him to a four-year, $212 million contract in July 2024.

However, Tagovailoa’s next two seasons were overshadowed by numerous concussions and his inability to perform well in cold-weather games.

He was benched for the last three games of the 2025-26 season in favor of rookie Quinn Ewers, after trowing 15 interceptions and a career-low 37.5 QB rating in fourteen appearances.

Tagovailoa’s future ceiling will likely be as a backup or competing for a starting job in training camp.
