Patriot Oaks Academy Student Critically Injured in Severe Motorcycle Accident: Latest Updates

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — In a distressing development for the community, emergency services rushed a child to the hospital after an accident involving a motorized bike in St. Johns County. The incident has left local families and school officials deeply concerned.

According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. near Patriot Oaks Academy on Long Leaf Pine Parkway. Responding deputies found the child involved in a crash between a vehicle and what was later identified as a “99cc gas-powered mini dirt bike.”

A spokesperson from the St. Johns County School District confirmed to First Coast News that the injured child is a 12-year-old student at Patriot Oaks Academy, adding a personal touch to the unfolding drama for the school community.

The district also said tonight’s basketball game versus Trout Creek has been canceled.

Officials wirth the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office report that amid the crash, the child is said to have been wearing a helmet.

According to SJSO, all lanes of Long Leaf Pine Parkway surrounding Patriot Oaks Academy is shut down. They are asking drivers to avoid the area.

Officials say the cause of the crash is currently still under investigation.
