In a tragic turn of events, the cause of death for Victoria Jones, the daughter of renowned actor Tommy Lee Jones, has been officially determined.

According to a statement released by the San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Victoria passed away due to an accidental cocaine overdose. This information was shared with ABC7 Eyewitness News on Tuesday.

The medical examiner’s office confirmed that the death certificate classifies her passing as an accident, with the specific cause listed as “Toxic effects of cocaine.”

Victoria Jones, who was 34 at the time of her death, was discovered at the Fairmont San Francisco hotel on New Year’s Day.

San Francisco police say they found a deceased female at the hotel after responding to a report of a deceased person around 3:14 a.m. on Jan. 1.

The Fairmont San Francisco released a statement at the time, writing:

“We are deeply saddened by an incident that occurred at the hotel on January 1, 2026. Our heartfelt condolences are with the family and loved ones during this very difficult time. The hotel team is actively cooperating and supporting police authorities within the framework of the ongoing investigation.”

Months before her death, she was arrested in Napa, California for fighting with her husband, allegedly over her drug use.
