In a significant move that is sure to delight anime enthusiasts, Pluto TV, a lesser-known yet formidable competitor to Crunchyroll, has expanded its offerings by adding over 100 hours of content from a major anime series. This new addition is accessible for free on a freshly launched 24/7 channel, further broadening Pluto TV’s appeal.
Pluto TV has officially acquired all 293 episodes of the popular series Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. This provides fans with ample opportunity to binge-watch the entire sequel to the beloved Naruto saga, just in time for its upcoming 10th anniversary this May. The best part? Viewers won’t need to worry about subscription costs, as Pluto TV is a completely free streaming service, allowing both dedicated followers and newcomers to enjoy the series without financial barriers.
The Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga, which debuted in 2016 in Weekly Shonen Jump, quickly captured the hearts of fans worldwide. Set years after the events of the original Naruto series, it focuses on Boruto, the teenage son of Naruto and Hinata. As Boruto navigates the challenges of adolescence, he strives to create his own path, distinct from the legacy of his famous parents.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Gets New 24/7 Streaming Home for All 293 Anime Episodes
Set years after the events of the original Naruto series, the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga premiered in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump in 2016 and quickly established a foothold with fans. The series largely revolves around Naruto and Hinata’s teenage son, the titular Boruto, as he sets about shaping his own legacy outside of his parents’ shadows.
Just one year after the manga was released, studio Pierrot’s Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime premiered to the delight of fans around the world. Like its predecessor, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations was a hit with both critics and audiences, going on to amass a whopping 293-episode run before coming to a close in 2023.
The new Pluto TV channel means well over 100 hours of free content for anime fans, or approximately 4.5 to 5 full days of nonstop streaming time. Notably, the platform also hosts other anime channels dedicated to the likes of Naruto, One Piece and Sailor Moon, among others.
Of course, that wasn’t the end of Boruto’s story, as the manga has continued on with the current series, Two Blue Vortex. As of the time of writing, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex anime, which will again be a Studio Pierrot production. While Two Blue Vortex is expected to premiere sometime later this year, or possibly in early 2027, it will be doing so under a decidedly different model than its predecessors.
In January, Studio Pierrot president Michiyuki Honma explained that the company is taking a quality-over-quantity approach to Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Specifically, this means adapting the series season by season rather than attempting to release regular weekly episodes, which would likely lead to the anime catching up to the source material, and in turn, bring production to a grinding halt.
Studio Pierrot lead animator Kyohei Ebata went on to confirm that fans won’t be seeing any anime-only elements or original characters showing up in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Instead, the studio is dedicating itself to crafting a deeply faithful adaptation of the source material — a decision that longtime readers have lauded online.
Earlier this week, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex continued to prove its popularity, particularly with manga readers, by taking the number three spot on the weekly Japanese sales chart from Oricon. Boruto — Two Blue Vortex Vol. 7 came in just behind Chainsaw Man Vol. 23 and Blue Box Vol. 24, all while outpacing other popular titles ranging from Blue Box to Kingdom.
All 293 episodes of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations are now available for free 24/7 streaming via Pluto TV.
