During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Salley suggested that Southern Charm fans might not truly understand Whitner, despite his widespread popularity. In the same conversation, she also shared that she had lunch with Austen Kroll‘s mother. Throughout the new season, Salley has shown interest in Austen romantically, even while rumors circulate about her being seen in a cozy setting with Kyle.

On February 11, a fan took to Instagram to comment on Salley’s interaction with Austen’s mother.

“Is Salley dating Austen?” the fan queried. “Wasn’t she also spotted with Kyle?”

“Sally is dating Austin?” the fan asked in an Instagram comment. “Wasn’t she seen with Kyle?”

Salley then responded, “Can we stop with this. I was with a group of people, can a girl have guy friends?”

On the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Salley addressed Whitner’s alleged reaction to her WWHL interview.

“I think [what I said] wasn’t even that big of a deal,” Salley expressed, via @breakingtherulespodclips on Instagram. “I said that you don’t know him yet. Because everyone’s like, why is all the girls not going after Whitner? And I was like, I don’t think you all have gotten a chance to know him yet.”

“I think he’s an entitled pr**k. I think he reminds me of J.T. a lot,” said Salley, referring to her nemesis from last season. “And I don’t think I’m the only one that feels that way. I’m saying it now because I’m not holding back now, because I saw the text message he’s sending about me. He has it out for me. … Everything’s been so positive [about him] online, so that one negative thing that I said, people are questioning, like, what could be going on with Whitner. And he was really on his high horse, like, ‘Ooh, I’m getting all this attention, everyone loves me, there’s no negative press about me.’”

According to Salley, Whitner is “messing with the wrong girl,” and “the only person” who should be “looking out is him.”
