Daughter of Rhode Island Shooter Robert Dorgan Reveals Family Vendetta as Motive Behind Tragic Rampage

Amanda Wallace-Hubbard, the daughter of Robert Dorgan, has shed light on the motivations behind her father’s violent outburst at an ice hockey arena, describing it as a targeted vendetta against their family. Her comments come in the wake of the tragedy that unraveled during a high school hockey game at the Dennis M. Lynch Arena in Rhode Island, where Dorgan fatally attacked his adult son, Aidan, and his ex-wife, Rhonda.

“I want people to understand this wasn’t just a random act of violence. It was a personal vendetta,” Wallace-Hubbard told WPRI. “We were specifically targeted.”

Armed with a Glock 10mm and a SIG Sauer P226, Dorgan’s rampage was brought to a halt by the courageous actions of a bystander. Wallace-Hubbard, who is Dorgan’s daughter from a different relationship, expressed gratitude for the intervention, fearing that her own sons might have been the next targets if not for the Good Samaritan’s bravery.

“I truly feared for my sons’ lives until that hero stepped in and stopped him,” she recounted. “I can’t express enough gratitude. I am certain that my sons and I are alive because of his actions.”

“Until that good Samaritan incapacitated him, I really feared that my sons were next,” she said. “I can’t thank him enough. I’m certain my sons and I are alive because of him.”

Bystander Michael Black said he heard two noises, similar to that of balloons popping, before he jumped into action.

“I just grabbed, went for the gun and I got my hand caught,” he told WCVB.

But Black’s left hand was stuck in the weapon’s chamber, which meant the shooter couldn’t fire it again.

Dorgan’s son, Colin, was playing in the game on the rink when chaos erupted in the bleachers.

The shooter, who underwent gender reassignment surgery in 2020, was described as “very sick” by an unidentified woman who said she was his daughter.

“He shot my family, and he’s dead now,” she said.

After Dorgan was identified as the shooter, it emerged that his X account was peppered with hate-fueled context and in one post, he threatened to go “beserk.”

He lashed out at an X user labeling transgender Democratic lawmaker Sarah McBride a man.

“Keep bashing us. But do not wonder why we Go BERSERK,” Dorgan wrote in the chilling post.

Dorgan was embroiled in a bitter divorce battle in the years leading up to Monday’s horror.

Rhonda Dorgan filed for divorce in 2020 and initially cited “gender reassignment surgery, narcissistic and personality disorder traits,” as the reason for the filing, according to court papers first seen by WPRI.

She then changed the reason, claiming it was due to “irreconcilable differences.” They had been married for almost 30 years at the time of the divorce filing.

Dorgan’s former co-workers at a Maine shipbuilding facility claimed he had a bad temper and sometimes had screaming matches with others.

One claimed Dorgan had mixed feelings over his transition. They said he could be proud at one particular time, and embarrassed the next.

Rhonda Dorgan’s parents, Linda and Gerald, were critically injured, as was family friend Thomas Geruso, according to Pawtucket Chief of Police Tina Goncalves.

The shooting unfolded at a Senior Night game and Pawtucket Mayor Don Grebien said the occasion was “marked by violence and fear.”

Cops are still reviewing surveillance video from the game and have already spoken to more than 1000 witnesses.

The Rhode Island shooting came less than a week after transgender gunperson, Jesse Van Rootselaar, killed a female teacher and five students at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in Canada.
