SAVANNAH, Ga. () – City officials reveal that preparations for Savannah’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities kick off almost immediately after the previous celebration wraps up. This involves analyzing successes, missteps, and enhancing safety measures for one of the city’s most significant annual gatherings.

According to Jason Pagliaro, Director of Special Events, Film, and Tourism, the planning cycle resumes in the spring, with agreements and acquisitions often settled months ahead.

“Our goal is continual improvement, which begins in May. By June, we’re already securing contracts, procuring supplies, and arranging logistics for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day,” Pagliaro explained. “The event requires extensive coordination, from renting barricades to securing Porta Johns and food trucks.”
